Meet the Surgeon
Dr. Y. Paul Han earned his DDS from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He completed his general practice residency at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, and his oral and maxillofacial internship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital (now Mount Sinai West) in Manhattan. He was chief resident at New York Medical College-Westchester Consortium, a level I trauma center, where he gained extensive experience in sedation, facial trauma, craniofacial surgery, maxillofacial reconstruction, maxillofacial pathology, and dentoalveolar surgery.
Dr. Han is passionate about helping his patients feel safe, comfortable, and confident while providing them with the best possible care. He is licensed in dental general anesthesia and holds a variety of advanced life support certifications. He is also a member of numerous oral and maxillofacial surgeons’ associations and societies. He has hospital privileges at both Metropolitan Hospital in New York, NY, and Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune City, NJ.
In his free time, Dr. Han enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling, and watching sports with his wife and son.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
We always enjoy meeting new patients, and we will work hard to make you feel comfortable. Please download and complete your Patient Forms ahead of your visit to minimize your wait. Take all routine medications as normal, but please discontinue pain medications for at least 4 hours before your appointment.
Please bring your medical and dental insurance cards, any recent dental x-rays, a list of your current medications and supplements, and your referral form if you have one. Note that all patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Your first visit will consist of a comprehensive examination and case review. We will discuss your diagnosis, as well as your options for treatment and sedation. We invite you to ask questions and to bring up any concerns you might have. Please let us know of any existing medical conditions that could affect your care, such as artificial joints or heart valves, rheumatic fever, high blood pressure, or diabetes. If you are currently on antibiotics, please advise us of that as well.
